According to the report, PS4 systems sold an average of 8.7 million units in May. That was less than 1 percent of the PlayStation 4's current total; that's also almost 10 percent of what the Xbox One sold last year.

Sony is also under pressure from other video game publishers, which have pushed for an overhaul of the PlayStation 4's sales model from the beginning of its existence. The Sony PS4 has been a success, but it's a problem that is affecting the entire console business.

It's a shame that Sony is only able to sell so much PlayStation 4 games in a single month, and that's only because they can't.
