While Hollywood may not see a move to ban the use of streaming as an option in the Oscars, or have any real interest in removing it altogether, Hollywood still wants the Oscars to be a place where the creative process can be done.

"We're going to push back against the idea of a filter that we're not allowed to use," said Lucasfilm chairman and CEO George Lucas in May.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Disney Studios. We'll update this post if we hear back. The following is adapted from the book by Michael Dyson:

"It is a story that began with a very small and mysterious event in the history of the earth, the birth of the first human being on the planet Earth. It begins with the simple observation, 'I am the first human being,' and then the story of the birth of the first human being," the writer said, referring to an event in 1685.

I asked Dyson in a telephone interview whether he had any further comment regarding the story.

"We've had a number of questions about that, and we've been very clear about that," he replied.

I asked him if he had anything else to add to the story?

"I have no comment on that," he said. "But I think that he will have to try and get up to speed with what we have now.

"At the moment, we're not sure how much of the story is about human beings, or how much is about the story of the creation of human beings," he said.

"We're just at a stage where human beings are beginning to live within the universe, so there is much potential to have a lot of stories about how we were created, that we were born," Dyson said.

Dyson added that the story has "the potential to be a complex story in some ways. There are many possible endings," and that he will have to work with actors to get them to do it.

This is the third time this year that Dyson has written about the history of the human race. He is the author of one of the best-known books on the subject, The Evolution of Species, which was published in 1987 and was also published in 1986.
