"We've got a couple of things going on and we've got to test the waters, and then we're going to make decisions about how we're going to implement it into the games because we need people to pay attention here, in the States, to get a hold of the games."
One of the first things Analogue has to consider when it comes to remastering its hardware is whether it will provide any sort of additional extras that will allow the games to be remastered.
Analogue announced in May that it had a plan to port the SNES/SNES Genesis hardware from the original SNES back to the Genesis. (By October, Sega had confirmed it was re-working their system for the second SNES, but did not announce that it would add any additional features.)
"We're not a company that's going to do that. We're going to focus on the SNES and our best, our best, our best of our best. We have a great working relationship with Nintendo. We don't have a single customer that doesn't have a SNES. All of the products we've worked on, we've done over the years. We had an idea that we wanted to do something for the Nintendo platform. We wanted to give consumers something to look forward to when they buy the Wii U and then the Wii 2. We're proud of it."
The Mega Sg will offer region-limited support for SNES and SNES 64 titles, while the SNES Mega Drive and SNES Genesis have a set of additional functions and features like HDMI on an analog controller.
"It's going to be a lot more of a challenge to make sure the games are as accurate and accurate as possible, so we're going to do all of the same. We're going to be a hard core in terms of the hardware, so we're going to try to make sure that the games are as accurate as possible to make sure that you're going to always be playing them. It's going to be hard for Nintendo to make the Genesis software that's good and for us to make the SNES software that's good and for us to make sure that they are. That will mean that everything will be more accurate for them. We are still a really small company, but we will do as much as we can for the SNES and SNES Genesis."
The Mega Sg is the same chassis as the Mega Drive and Genesis, but it has a different back and forth between the two formats.
