I've been using this product as a regular coffee filter for a long time now. I used to make very small cups and use this filter to filter the coffee just a bit before every cup. I have since moved to using this much larger filter and as I now find that this filter doesn't last much longer and my cup is now a lot larger without any issues. The problem is that it has made my cup grow on the outside without any effect. It still works fine, but it's made of carbon fiber. I would still recommend it over any other filters but as a regular coffee maker, I wouldn't buy this filter. Also, if you don't mind having a bit of a bump in the road from the filter, I would still recommend this filter over these other brands of filters.
