Twitter immediately suspended Ritchie's account.
Ritchie, who is currently working as a political commentator on "Saturday Night Live" as of Thursday afternoon, posted a series of tweets Thursday morning calling her tweets "disrespectful to the entire Everglades community," according to a statement from Twitter. The tweets were allegedly made by her former employer, The Intercept.
The tweets were also reportedly intended as bait and offer to send her more money.
Twitter has yet to respond to the allegations against Ritchie.
Ritchie was a high-profile figure in the 2016 presidential campaign for the Democratic Party before being removed from the platform.
The New York Times revealed in August that Ritchie had allegedly made at least three such threats against the New York Times over a decade, and had repeatedly been paid by the Times in exchange for her work."I'm not going to lie, I'm having a great time," said the 30-year-old man, who declined to give his name as the incident unfolded. "My wife and I are both super excited."
The suspect, who was not identified by his family, was shot and killed in a gunbattle with police and a SWAT team at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday night. Police believe he was shot because he was carrying a gun.
Witnesses said the man had an open hand on the suspect's shoulder, and a handgun was tucked under his jacket as he got out of range. He told officers that he had no intention of trying to kill them, but instead wanted to kill himself, the police said.

"That's when he decided he was going to kill himself," said Mark T. Thompson, who lives across the street from the suspect's house, which had been closed for an hour to permit officers to search the home.

Witnesses said that when the suspect entered the home and began firing, he got out of his vehicle and ran down the street. That is when he ran into the backyard, said one witness, who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to reporters.
