"Today's decision gives the cable companies a fair chance to correct their mistakes in order to preserve the rights of African American-owned broadcasters," said Jay Fusco, president of Community Television First, which represents Charter and Edison in the lawsuit.

The case is filed by Community Television First, a cable subsidiary of Charter Media Group, which operates two of the major national cable networks, Time Warner Cable and Time Warner Cable. Charter and Edison are represented by Covington & Burling.
