The X1 Carbon comes with a 1.1 GHz quad-core Intel
The X1 Carbon comes with a 1.1 GHz quad-core Intel Core2 Duo 3.2 GHz processor and 2GB of memory—two gigabytes of RAM and 128GB of storage, which Lenovo claims is sufficient for a large desktop, laptop, or tablet. It also comes with the latest 3.6 GHz Intel Celeron 2.0 GHz processor and 2GB of DDR3; the latter being sufficient for any system of this size.
Lenovo is also touting the X1 Carbon's 2GB of RAM as an upgrade to Intel's Haswell-E-7 platform and a huge upgrade over the stock Haswell-E-6. As an added bonus, though, it boasts its own new memory controller—a new kind of microSD card that can be used to expand your SSD's capacity.
While this is the first time Lenovo has seen a 7th gen laptop in their range, the X1 Carbon is also a brand new device that may have something new in store. While the X1 Carbon's predecessor is built around an X99 chipset, this new device is based around a quad-core Snapdragon 835 processor, rather than Qualcomm's 1st-generation Snapdragon 820.
The X1 Carbon comes with a 2GB of Corsair DDR3 SSD with a 3200RPM hard drive. The same is true for the stock 8GB Intel Core2 Duo 3.5 GHz processor and 1GB of memory. The European Union and the United States have agreed to take action on Russia's military intervention in Ukraine, saying they are "deeply concerned" by the use of Russian-made weapons.
A statement from EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini was issued by the EU's foreign affairs office on Wednesday.
"As the EU has long urged us to help the Ukrainian government and its forces fight ISIL, this action is a step in this direction and we are fully concerned about the continued use of Russian-made weapons and equipment in the fight against ISIL," she said.
Earlier this month a group including U.S. soldiers was killed in eastern Ukraine's Luhansk region, after pro-Russian separatists took over control over the rest of the city.
Russia has said that it has no intention of arming any separatist forces, but a report by the Russian Defence Ministry said the US would consider arming "anybody or group that has any military advantage or capability in the area" in the fight against extremists.
