T.C. Sottek's decision to issue a strike may be one of the more egregious examples of copyright takedown in recent history. In September, the New York Times published an article with the headline "Why the New York Times Should Have Been More Critical of the Verge and Google's Terms of Service."

The Times and Vox have been critical of the tech sites, including The Verge and The Verge's parent site Vox. In August, the tech publication Time published an editorial titled "In a Time of Digital Restrictions," which argued that YouTube and Google are "incompatible" in terms of transparency and that "Google's aggressive search engine is making it harder for the Internet to thrive."

After the Times wrote up the editorial, Vox Media called Sottek's decision a "tremendous move toward censorship without precedent in the 21st century." The Verge's editor-in-chief, Alex Swartz, also said he was "shocked" that one of the creators of The Verge was "shocked" that one of the creators of The Verge was "shocked" by a takedown request.Bryan Adams' "The Book of Mormon" is out this weekend.

Adams was an early Mormon prophet, and his prophetic work was influential in American history. He wrote his first "Book of Mormon" two hundred years ago, which was published in 1832.
