The Vega-C launch is currently undergoing a first round testing program and is being held up in a series of tests at a NASA facility in the California desert.

Vega-C is expected to fly in May 2019. It will be the most powerful and most reliable large-scale small satellite launcher to be launched in space, according to the Space Council.

The new Atlas V rocket is expected to enter its final stage of service in late 2017.

Vega-C will be built to the specifications of the Falcon Heavy rocket, as well as to a much more complex stage that could accommodate four payloads.

The Vega-C rocket's launch vehicle is already operating successfully.
