The stock price also reached a new all-time high on Monday, according to trading data. The stock closed down 4.4 percent at $35.

Tesla's move comes just a day after it was revealed that CEO Elon Musk would be leaving the company in a year for an outside job, following a dramatic plunge a few months ago. Musk first announced plans to move into a $100 million research and development facility in Texas, which would focus on the company's cars and products. Musk has said that he would leave the company and join a new company, Tesla, that would focus on developing the company's own cars. Musk's departure comes as Tesla has continued to grow its electric vehicle fleet. In addition to Tesla, Tesla has been involved in the development of the Model 3 and other electric cars.

Musk previously said he wanted to work with Tesla on a car. "I don't think we have a car right now," Musk told investors on June 23. However, he didn't specifically say whether he would be doing a project such as expanding Tesla's range. He did say, however, that the company would work to expand the range of its vehicles. While Tesla is a major player in the electric car market, Musk is also the CEO of Tesla Motors. Musk has said he would not have an incentive to work with Tesla if it wanted to.
