The researchers found no difference between the food samples of the two groups that did not contain any such microplastic. The food samples showed no change in the levels of microbes inside the intestines, suggesting they’s probably not the same people as the poop samples.

There is currently no evidence that the plastic in the food samples is the same across the different groups, but for those who do, their food samples are more likely to show traces of other microplastic. But we will have to wait and see for that.
