The New York event also confirmed that Apple will be releasing Android tablets, starting with the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. In the wake of the news, Apple's CEO Tim Cook reiterated the company's emphasis on "mobile devices," calling them the future of digital computing.
"We're going to be able to share some very exciting new features that Android tablets have been waiting for," Cook said. "We're excited about the upcoming iPad Pro, the very first tablet from the company that will come with an Apple Watch. You know, it's all about that beautiful, very beautiful display and very beautiful touchpad. You know, we're going to be able to share some very exciting new features that Android tablets have been waiting for."
In the past, Apple has been known to push out its own versions of its flagship gadgets, sometimes even adding their own hardware. While the new iPad Pro is just one of more than 20 other new devices to come out this year, the company has also been known to provide more software to help users make use of it. The company's latest tablet comes with the new Retina display that is just as capable as the Retina iPad, and while it is a bit smaller than the Retina iPad's, it also features a larger screen to give users more screen real estate.
