The new study's authors conclude that the glasses' adaptive function is not just about improving color vision. It's also about enhancing the effectiveness of the entire system.
"We're not all as good at color vision. But in the end, we're trying to keep the best possible vision for everybody," Neitz says.
The study's authors suggest that the more glasses people make, the more they benefit from the ability to make more color-detecting receptors. "The more color you see, the more you get to know a color. The more colors you have, the better your color perception," Neitz says.
What's more, the new findings suggest that the glasses could also help color blind users improve their vision on the range of light sources that they'll be able to see.
The study's findings were made possible with the help of the European Commission's Advanced Technology for Color Blindness Initiative, which is dedicated to improving the eye function of vision-impaired people on a global basis.MUMBAI: India's most populous state has gone into the dark as people begin to protest against the country's alleged corruption and mismanagement of government funds. On Thursday, a group of over 300 women took to the streets of the state capital to demand that the government intervene in the situation.Among the demands: the government to suspend the state-run central bank, the CBI, and state government departments. They also demanded that the state government and state government departments to divest from any and all assets, and to immediately initiate probe of the issue and the culprits involved. The women's march came in response to a petition on March 15 by a group of women members of the Indira Gandhi Youth Brigade (IGYGB).Among the other demands, the group will give an 'outcry' and raise awareness of the corruption allegations against the government.
