The idea of an intelligent alien intelligence was born, and it has been called a "superintelligence." (This is a very general term, and was developed by the philosopher and physicist Michael Dennett, in The Structure of Ideas. Here is a short summary of his views on the matter-like-intelligence, and on the idea of the universe as a series of universes.)

This idea is widely known, but it sounds very strange. This idea is that of one, perhaps two, distinct "supergenitors," or supernovae. These supernovae have a very long life, but will eventually collapse at some point, to a point they are invisible. They are invisible to the naked eye.

So what does this mean?

The term "supergenitors" refers to the super-massive black holes in the universe. They appear in the form of the "supervolcano" or "supernova" (for the short answer, supervolcano and supernova are very close). The supernovae are massive and their masses are very small, which is why they have the name "supervolcano" or "supernova." At some point, a few of the "supervolcano" or supernova will be destroyed, but they will never cause the collapse of the universe.

This is called an "interstellar explosion," and it is quite rare. It is a great deal of fun.

There is one other theory. A group of scientists have found a way to use the cosmic microwave background radiation emitted by a supernova. It is described as a "supernova" that "has a very long life."
