The Governor and his cabinet have said that the Michigan community would make a special effort to get Wells and his staff to testify.

In a statement, the Governor's Office of Public Health said,

"The Governor's Office of Public Health has a very strong commitment to the health and safety of all residents, including those in Flint. We work with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHS) to make sure Flint residents have access to health care and safe drinking water in their communities. Michigan is a world leader in clean water education and education in public health. We are committed to making sure that the residents of Flint have access to safe drinking water, and we will support them in doing so with support from the Governor and his Cabinet.

"In addition, we have invested in Flint Public Schools to ensure that they are fully equipped to provide a safe, efficient source of drinking water for residents. Our state has a unique public health relationship with Michigan and we recognize that both of these issues will need to be addressed.
