The company also said that it was considering whether to offer it arbitration instead of arbitration when hiring female attorneys.

Pichai also confirmed that it would consider including a women's rights organization as part of a team of female executives who is "actively pursuing this important question of sexual and sexual assault prevention."

The company will also seek to expand the team of women on the arbitration committee, which will include women former Google employees including Gennady Timchenko, who will serve on the panel, and senior VP of Google in-house Marko Karpishev, a former Google employee.

Pichai said employees will be paid for working on cases, although he did not specify how much.

Pichai said the company expects to offer a second arbitration committee for each of the four women who are on the panel.

"The arbitration committee is one of the most powerful tools Google has for employees, and we can be sure that the panel will also help the company to better understand what their rights are and better understand how they are treated in Google's legal system," Pichai wrote in the memo.

The proposed committee includes female Google employees, but the company has not yet decided whether that will include women on the panel.

According to an internal Google memo, which was obtained by The Wall Street Journal, Pichai said the company is looking to hire a female panel member for the first time in the past four years to help it understand what its employees are being held accountable for. A company spokesperson says the company is looking to hire an "active participant" to help the committee "understand what it is like to work together."

Pichai said the company's board decided on the first committee after a "very contentious" public consultation, and he expects to provide additional information to a second committee within the next few months on how it plans to implement the new process.

Google will release "our final internal report on the new process of choosing a nominee for the arbitration committee" next month.
