The acquisition also adds another layer to the company's already high profile acquisition of R&D, which includes the production of "The Last of Us: Remastered," which is slated for a March 8 release.
The studio's acquisition of R&D is the first of its kind in the studio's long history, with the studio's previous deal with Warner Bros. with the idea of making a "Warner Bros. game" (that's not R&D).
"The game will be based on an upcoming Warner Bros. game, and it will be developed with a new, proprietary voice-over framework," the studio said in a statement. "It will not be a Call of Duty franchise, but it will be a standalone game, meaning it will be playable through Call of Duty®: WWII, and will be made available for free for anyone to play, regardless of their subscription."
The studio, which has also developed "The Last of Us: Remastered," is expected to release the sequel to "The Last of Us: Remastered," which was originally slated for an April 16 release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PC.
"We are excited to see the success of the Call of Duty franchise with the new Call of Duty®: WNBA® series coming to an American market, and we are excited to see the success of the latest title in the Call of Duty® franchise," said John Bower, president and co-CEO of Audiokinetic. "We look forward to working with Sony to bring one of the best in gaming to Europe."The "Barry Allen Show" will be back on Saturday to celebrate its 11th anniversary.
The show, a program that was hosted by Jay Z, was originally scheduled for March 23, 2000, but it's now slated to be held on Saturday, March 23, 2001 at 4:10 p.m. on CBS.
