That's a big jump from previous models, and the new A12 Bionic chip also has a smaller body than previous models. But on the same panel, you see the same backlit backlit keyboard and a backlit multitouch touch screen, and it's not the same as the original iPad Air. There's no display on it, but it's still bigger than the original.

It is interesting to note that the original iPad Air was the first iPod Touch (like the A1 and A3, for example) to feature Face ID, though it's not clear if this will be a feature of the iPad Air 2 or newer. The A12 Bionic chip will also be compatible with many of Apple's own services-focused product lines.

Apple's new iPad Air is expected to ship in a range of colors and in a variety of sizes. Apple has been teasing the A12 Bionic chip as an option for older MacBooks, but it's unclear whether it will be available in all of the major U.S. markets.

And the A12 Bionic chip has been the subject of a lot of speculation in the past, even when it was confirmed to include Apple Pay. While it is more likely that the chip will come with a fingerprint sensor, there appears to be a number of other rumors floating around that suggest the chip is just an iPhone 5C chip.

After a string of poor seasons, the franchise announced Friday it would be parting ways with general manager Joe Sakic, who played two seasons in Tampa Bay before making a move to the Tampa Bay Rowdies in January.
