That sounds like a big deal right there, but the idea behind the American Gods is that a great evil is coming to earth. And that's precisely what the new season wants to do.
It's not all doom and gloom, as the characters are trying to survive by the book's end, but instead of making for good, the plot is trying to get to know the people who are trying to stop it. The show is very much a continuation of the previous season, with the story revolving around the new Gods and the ways their influence has changed over the years. In other words, the gods are getting old and they're leaving behind a new mythology.
The gods' influence has not been as strong as it was as we've seen so far. The world seems to have changed. The New Gods are dying from ignorance and chaos. The Old Gods are trying to stop the bad, but it's just the beginning.
This may sound like a little over-the-top, but we've seen the gods in movies before. In the films, The Godfather, The Godfather II, and The Godfather III, the Old Gods are all dead. The New Gods have been slowly dying off, but they're still trying to keep the Old Gods alive.
In the American Gods sequel, we've seen a lot of change in the world, but the New Gods are still dying.
The American Gods first started out as a movie series focusing on mythology, and then its series grew into a web series exploring the world of America's past. Now the series has been adapted into a web series. In the series, the gods are no more. The New Gods are still trying to control the world around them, but they're not doing their jobs.
