Tesla is a self-driving car company. It's a smart, autonomous car that lets people drive like an actual car, and a company that doesn't have to make a lot of people uncomfortable to use it. The company has been working on self-driving cars at the heart of the $40 billion car-sharing business, and it's a growing problem that's not just in the U.S., but all over the world.

In April, Tesla announced that it would be offering a $20,000 refundable charge for any Tesla Model 3 owners who failed a roadside roadside breath checkpoint. That's when Banning realized that he was being charged for the full auto-recharge.

"When the charge came up, I went through the driver's side of the vehicle, then I got on the car and I pulled over. It was like, OK, what would happen if I pulled over that way? I'd see the car and I'd be like, 'Oh, here's how we're going to do this? We're going to get you back in the car.' It was like, 'That's stupid.' "

Banning isn't saying that Tesla is stupid. He says that there's no way to actually prove that, he says. But the problem, he says, is that the Tesla Model 3 owners are not being honest.

"They're being disingenuous," Banning said. "They're using the word 'self-driving,' because it's an artificial concept, and it's a very good idea. But they're not being honest about how they are using it."

With the $10,000 charge, the Tesla Model 3 is free to go.

"This is not something that's going to change anything," Banning said. "I think it is something that has to be taken seriously in front of people."

But the real point is that when these people have the chance to take their money and buy a car that's not only safer, but also that's a car that will keep them honest, they're going to start to care about their safety and the safety of their parents and their family, and they're going to care about their safety of their children.
