Takahashi stated that the game is still in development. The game will follow the adventures of two different characters, one from the original Metroid Prime series and the other from a new Metroid Prime-themed game.

Takahashi also stated that if the original game was able to reach the level of the Metroid series, it is considered a huge accomplishment for Nintendo to get to the level it is today. "I'm very excited to do this, to bring the story of the original Metroid Prime to the next level, and I think our team's work has been very, very good."

The game would be the second Metroid Prime game to feature a third person perspective that is not shown during gameplay as the game would also have to appear in some way for the first game to be completed. "This is our first time doing this, and the third time was a long, long time ago," he said.

Takahashi stated that the game would feature a second perspective in the form of a character who could act as a guide for the player during the game.
