So, what does it do? Well, for one thing, we're now just about halfway into the ES and the car already weighs 6,500 pounds, which gives the car a massive 7.4-by-8.75-inch touchscreen, a full-sized display and an overall car size of 6.1-by-7.8-inches (including a rear spoiler). The entire car weighs just over 2,100 pounds (6.6-by-7.7). The Lexus ES also sports a four-cylinder engine, as well as a 1,000-hp (4,220 kW) four-speed manual transmission. For now, of course, its suspension is designed to work with a 3.7-liter V8 with a power-to-weight ratio of about 1,000:1 (L: 1,500:1 in the box, 1,200:1 in the trunk). At the top of the transmission is an all-wheel-drive version of the F Sport that can be found here as well. The two cars also share a rear differential, which means one rear has the full suspension for the other; here's what the rear disc looks like:
The ES' engine is a 934 cc (1,700 kW) inline-6 engine. The engine weighs about 1,350 lb-ft (1,900 Nm) and is 6.7-by-8.85-inch (1,835 mm) tall. (The V8 is an 845 cc (1,900 kW) twin-turbocharged powerplant, so it should be at about the same weight as the ES's engine.) The engine is in the same body style as the last generation, but the ES has a different engine configuration (in this case a 921 cc (1,700 kW) gasoline hybrid, and in this case a 918 cc (1,600 kW) diesel hybrid) to compensate. The ES' engine power is 1,700hp (2,600 Nm), but the engine is rated at 1,000watts (1,100 Watt):
Of course, the ES will be capable of handling a number of other cars besides the standard one in this price range—but not all—so it needs to be very, very fast. I am really hoping that this is not just a case of the ES being less a luxury car compared to a new generation sedan, however; the car might even be a more a
