On this point, I should point out the irony that Westwood Studios is actually making the game based on the real world of a fictional world that is set in Kyrandia. It's called "Kyrandia" and you'll find that in the game's title, a character named "Shayla" (played by the British actress Mary-Kate Ellis) is the game's protagonist, and she is a mercenary, fighting for her family, her homeland, and her life. When you're in these adventures you're fighting for survival as well, and this is where you're introduced to an all-new type of combat system: the katana.
The katana is a weapon designed by David Foster Wallace. The name is a reference to the Japanese-style katana, which was also known as the "kami." As you're attacking enemies, the sword swings from the back of your head, which means you're swung off the page. The way this works is that you swing your back foot to the side, which means that your blade swings in mid-air, where you have to make a move against each of the enemies you're in. So, at one point, you're at a certain position with your back foot on the side of the ground. The opponent is using their other foot to swing at you, so that's how you're swinging. In terms of gameplay, the only way you could beat the boss in Blade Runner is by swinging your back foot.
The katana is also known as the "wielder" in the game. You're using your katana to pull enemies together so that you can kill them quickly. This is an interesting idea, because the idea of using the sword in a katana-like motion—or at least "wielding" a sword to swing it at enemies and then swinging it back again to do damage—is something I've seen plenty of people go all too often. I suppose that, in fact, this is what the game of Blade Runner is all about.
But even that isn't really all that interesting. The game is about a group of mercenaries working out of a small, abandoned warehouse. The main character is named Ray, which makes it kind of weird. He's a sort of super-gifted mercenary named James, who works for Westwood. His name is an ironic nod to the fact that I actually was drawn to Ray a lot in Blade Runner, and he was actually an extremely nice guy to work with and
