It's no secret that Windows 8 is the most significant release by Microsoft, but it's been a long time since I've used it to see if it's a good fit for the company's new suite of platforms.

Today's app installers are more focused on the apps that were previously available. The Windows Store is a nice place to get a list of available apps, but to get to using it, you need to download Office from the Windows Store instead.

I'm surprised that Microsoft has taken the step of using Office 365 as my default install, but that might be a good thing for users who want to use Office without going through Microsoft's entire suite of apps.

The federal government is considering a bill that would legalize marijuana in the United States. The Cannabis Act (CAM) would legalize cannabis in the state of Colorado, but there are some hurdles to overcome. The bill would create a state-registered medical cannabis program and allow for a broad variety of cannabis products to be sold in a local dispensary.

The law is scheduled to take effect in September. It would not change the way marijuana is sold for medical purposes, such as in the United States, but is expected to make it much more difficult for medical marijuana patients to get a license.

The marijuana has been touted as a safer alternative to heroin and other illicit drugs, but in practice, it has been blamed for leading to mental health problems in young people. People are underrepresented in the U.S. with a high rate of incarceration, according to an analysis from the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

Cannabis is often described as a gateway drug for people addicted to opioids, but the drug is often used in recreational quantities to reduce the risk of addiction. The marijuana also is used to treat various mental health conditions including anxiety, insomnia, depression and some forms of addiction.
