In other words, in a time when people didn't have any means of transport from one place to another, it's possible one of these moai was transported over the roads, a few feet at a time. But how did this happen? In the 1960s, archaeologists were looking at the ruins of ancient ruins on the island, and saw the ancient moai in places like the ancient city of Piau, and there was an interesting connection between the two. For that reason, the researchers turned to archaeology.

The team found hundreds of artifacts found in the ruins of the city. A few were buried under layers of rock, including a large stone statue of a man carrying a sword. The remaining artifacts were found in caves, and the artifacts were found in a well that was used as a burial ground by a clan of Piau inhabitants.

The researchers suggest that the stones may have been placed on top of the statues to create a place where they could have been lifted and then buried. The team also finds evidence that the ancient Moai were not buried under a layer of rock but rather were buried in caves, where they can likely have been seen in the afterlife. The archaeologists suggest these caves were filled with stone and stone-looking objects, which could have been found in the caves.
