In The First Blood, two-thirds of the survivors of the First Blood are female. In the second, half of the survivors are male. The final survivor is a male. The First Blood has its own unique appearance, such as in the following three games:

The player gets a copy of one of the game's main characters by opening the main-character menu. The player can buy the book on the first floor of the First Blood House. (This may cause the player to get stuck in a loop when trying to go back to the main-character menu.)

There are seven different races of survivors, each with its own appearance and the special abilities of all four races.
