Blackberry is a brand you can pick up for $350
Blackberry is a brand you can pick up for $350 at the Walmart or for $399 in the US. It has a huge market share in China, and also has been known to offer an affordable smartphone range.
Blackberry can also be purchased at Best Buy for $600, which is roughly half the price of a $35 phone.
Blackberry might be the most popular Android smartphone brand on the web, but it has a rather low user base in China. Blackberry was originally designed to be a cheap phone, but was eventually sold out of stock after a short period of time.
Blackberry was also discontinued in 2009. I'm not as sure how many TCL phones are left in the US.
So how do you find yourself in China? I started by checking out the website of the Chinese government's government-run telecom provider, TCL Telecom.
My initial visit to TCL was to find out what TCL is for, and it's actually an interesting business venture. There are some interesting things about TCL, including how it manages to make money off of its users, and how it's not an official smartphone.
