"At this point (in the trial), we are asking Facebook to provide a copy of its internal audit, which includes some of the specific statements made by Facebook about how many times it has been shown time and time again that it is violating the privacy rights of its users. The court is still awaiting response and will likely issue a decision on this. The case is pending in federal court in Oakland, California, pending a determination by Facebook of the merits of this challenge."
It's unclear, however, when the plaintiffs will file their initial lawsuit.
[Image via Shutterstock, @lleonecomputing ]The Department of Agriculture (USDA) has recently announced a major program for the Department of Agriculture to develop and sustain long-form research into the role of the human microbiome on diet and nutrition. In a recent article entitled "Conservation of Human Microbiota," Department of Agriculture's Assistant Secretary of Agriculture, Dr. David S. G. Cernovich, Jr., discusses the potential for this program to become a major part of the USDA's food security efforts.
"It's the most important food security program in the world [the USDA] has ever undertaken. It's a program that will help the United States eat more food. And yet, the American people are not satisfied, are not eating enough, and have not taken steps to reduce their food consumption and their nutrition needs," G.C.Cernovich told us. "We need to take action."
The program is an initiative of the Department of Agriculture to develop and sustain research on the role of microbes in the human diet. The study aims to examine the role of these microbial species in human health and nutrition.
"It is our hope that our efforts and contributions to this program will lead to a better understanding of the role of these microbes in our diets," G.C.Cernovich said.
