As with the phone with glass back, the 6.1-inch model

As with the phone with glass back, the 6.1-inch model is rumored to have a curved edge and a fingerprint sensor, along with a new fingerprint scanner. The new model will be priced at $999; the iPhone X will cost $399. (Update: We've been told that Apple also plans to unveil its new models with the same fingerprint sensors (see update below))

As for all of the hardware, we'll have more details on that soon. As always, check back for more info on the event.

UPDATE: A Twitter post from the Apple official account confirmed the event date and description for the event (with no additional photos).

Original story, September 12, 6:45am: The new iPhones have been revealed, with the first devices being announced on Wednesday, September 12th. One of the devices shown at the event is the new iPhone, which will be officially unveiled at the Apple Store this Thursday. According to the official Twitter account, the device will be available in a 7-inch and a 13-inch model.

Update: A spokesperson for Apple confirmed yesterday it was teasing an all-new iPad, iPad 2, and iPad Air, and that the company is also planning to announce a new 4.7-inch iPad with 3-inch display, 6GB of RAM, and a 5.6-inch screen. In an interview published yesterday, Michael Hsieh of the US firm's Worldwide Developer Relations stated:

"It's not a new device, but it's an evolution of the iPhone 3GS, and it's going to be the same as the iPhone 3GS 2 and this will be the first iPad with 3G, as well as a full-touch iPhone."
