As with Gear VR, it's more immersive than the real thing, but it's a little more expensive.
As Holoride has grown, so has its appeal.
On one hand, this is the first time that a company has released a car, and it's going to be a huge step forward. Even with the price tag that comes with owning a car, there's going to be a lot of people who have no interest in a car, because what's your best bet? You might have to wait to walk out to the nearest grocery store. But if you're a car lover and want to play with it, you'll want to own it now.
When Holoride launched in April, its first product sold out around the world, and the company's initial sales were $1.2 million. That's only the beginning. It's going to cost a lot more to produce a full-size version of the car, and there are hundreds of thousands of customers across the globe who won't be able to afford that. In just a year's time, Holoride's estimated sales will exceed $30 million. In some regions, it may even exceed that.
As for the price, it's going to be a lot cheaper than even the most expensive VR headsets. For $40, you can get a full-sized version without a controller, and for $100, you can get a standalone, immersive, physical car that you can use to drive around the world.
It's also going to include a whole bunch of new features, including a new sensor and a new VR headset that you can use to ride around your home.
