After his time with Rocket Lab, Beck decided to focus
After his time with Rocket Lab, Beck decided to focus on the company's international operations. Rocket Lab's biggest challenge was to develop and launch its most ambitious rocket. While many launch companies do that, Rocket Lab didn't want to compromise the commercial viability of an established company like SpaceX, so the company built a company-wide business focused on the Chinese satellite market.
"We realized that if we were going to be competitive on commercial space launch, we wanted to be competitive on space launch," Beck said. "We wanted to be a market with the best possible opportunity and we wanted to make it a competitive business. We don't care about other countries and we don't care about the price of space or the value of our payload or our payload, so those are the kinds of things that we think about and want our company to deal with, because we think about it a lot more than they do in other businesses."
Rocket Lab's rockets are ready for the International Space Station (ISS) launch. For more information about the launch of the Electron rocket, check out the Rocket Report and see what we learned.
